Adding credit card onto my Apple account

I’ve been trying for a week and a half to add a credit card onto my Apple account. It says there’s something wrong but it doesn’t say what it is that’s wrong. I called my credit card company and they said the credit card is activated. I’ve used the credit card other places, but cannot get it to attached to my account. Could you help please
