How can I fix my AirPods Pro 2nd gen microphone issues?

Person on the either side complains about muffled voice. At times people have trouble understanding what I say.

Tried all possible workarounds-

  1. Tried cleaning the mic
  2. Earplugs fit comfortably
  3. Tried resetting almost 20 times.
  4. Followed proper and standard setup process
  5. The drivers are up to date
  6. Connected to other devices and the issue persists.
  7. Airpods were always fully charged.
  8. Tried to switch to different modes, tested with adaptive audio enabled/disabled.
  9. Tried in built voice recorder in iPhone and the audio quality is still poor.
  10. Tried re-positioning the AirPods in my ears.

Nothing has worked. Please suggest what can be done.

Hello, larsonRalph.

It sounds like you've already tried most of the common fixes, but here are a couple more things to try:

  1. Reset All Settings on iPhone: Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This won’t erase your data but might fix deeper issues.
  2. Check for Interference: Make sure no other Bluetooth devices are interfering with your connection.
  3. Test with a Different Mic App: Try recording with a third-party app like Voice Memos to see if the issue still happens.
  4. Apple Support: If none of these work, it might be a hardware issue with the AirPods themselves. You may need to contact Apple for a replacement.

Hope this helps you!
