How to save sorted columns in ascending order in Numbers?

Hi. I’ve recently moved over to Numbers and found it incredibly easy to use for my very simple spreadsheets. However, these are mainly lists and after completing, I wanted each column in alphabetical order - simple procedure but once I move on to next column to repeat procedure the previous column returns to its original format, unsorted! Can anyone tell me how I can sort all columns (ascending), keep them that way and save them that way? They need to be printed out regularly. Thanks for any help.

If you mean a multi-column sort then see below. If you mean that the columns are completely independent of each other and you want to sort them individually then it is not so easy to do in Numbers. For that, you can make each column a table to itself then sort each table. There are other things you can do but that might be the simplest and quickest if you are doing a lot of sorting.




As separate tables and sorted separately:
