Is my iMac on its last legs?
Hello!
I still use a 2016 27 inch iMac. That makes the computer nine years old and lately I’ve had the constant spinning beach ball to the point that I can’t really do much on it. The other issue I have had is that applications are unresponsive more that they work. As far as OS go, it might be one behind the current one for the computer. I have never done anything else to try to upgrade it. It was just used as is right out of the box. I know I’m going to need to give more information about the machine, but just based on my description does it sound like I should just buy a new iMac? Or is there something that can be done to get my current iMac to continue working a little longer?
one other question, with newer iMacs is it just best to buy an external hard drive that plugs in via USB to use with the new computer. I’ve used a time capsule all these years, but that may be out of date too.( it’s not the small tower one) it’s the box that lays flat) Apple isn’t making that product anymore right?
thank you,
Megan
