Is it normal for Morphie charging block to get hot while charging iPhone?

Why does the morphine charging block get so hot while charging my phone? Can this damage my phone?

It is not unusual for a Power Adapter to become warm (or very warm) when being used or during charging. The key point is that whilst your Power Adapter may become very warm in normal use, it should become uncomfortably hot to handle. The Power Adapter becoming warm will not, of itself, cause damage to your iPhone.

If the Power Adapter is too hot to handle, you should seek assistance from Mophie/Zagg Support - and/or return the Power Adapter to the retailer from which it was purchased.
