'AMPLibraryAgent quit unexpectedly' error when transferring music library from MacBook Air to MacBook Pro

I'm trying to export my music library from my MacBook Air (Catalina) to my MacBook Pro (Monterey).

I have consolidated my library and then dragged my iTunes folder containing library and media folder to an external drive.

On my MacBook Pro i opened the Music App via the Option button and pointed it towards the library its file on the external hard drive.

When i do so i get the message 'AMPLibraryAgent quit unexpectedly, if i report or ignore this nothing happens and no library is imported?

What am i doing wrong?
