What happened to JKL Studios useful font management guide?

Question for Kurt Lang: it looks like your font guide has disappeared online. The old links go to a dodgy tikkytokky site. Since I have older systems in regular use, I still consulted your excellent guide occasionally. Is it gone forever?

I realize that Apple has made font management a lot more annoying in the past several OS releases. Just hopping there's still a guide out there somewherte.

Mac Studio, macOS 12.7

Hello kahjot,

A few things happened to cause the site to disappear. We closed down the business the article was hosted from at the end of 2021. But I kept it going just for the font article to see if Apple would ever let users at least control the Supplemental fonts again.

After two major OS releases and no change, it made the main purpose of the article moot as all of the OS installed fonts were, and still are almost completely off limits to the user. Since there wasn't much left to add to it beyond that, I didn't want to keep paying a hosting service for what had become a static page.

But, you can still access copies of the pages on The WayBack Machine.

Apple did give a way for users to at least remove a lot of non English fonts (starting in Sonoma, I think). Font Book is the only place you can do this from.

Click All Fonts in the left column. At the right, you can right click on many non English fonts and disable, or remove them. There's still a lot you can't touch, like those highly annoying Noto Sans fonts, but it still helps to get a lot of fonts out of your lists.
