Virtual instruments (Steven Slate Drums 5.5 and Drumforge Bergstrand) stopped working in Logic Pro 11.

Hi, it's Mikko from Finland.

When I try to launch these instruments in a project (or open an existing project where I have these plugins)

I get that little pop up box which says:

"An Audio Unit plug-in reported a problem which might cause the system to become unstable. Please quit and restart Logic Pro."

The "recover" option in that box won't help.

Both of those instruments have worked perfectly before. I'm not sure if the problems started after updating Logic Pro to version 11.

I contacted Drumforge support and they helped me all they could, but it didn't solve the problem. So it's maybe more likely an issue with Apple/Logic.

I´m using:

Mac mini M1 2020 16 GB

macOS Sequoia 15.3.2

Logic version 11.1.2

Hope someone can help. I really need those instruments working.

Open up Logic Pro using Rosetta and tell me if the problem persists.

I had this issue with DrumForge as they were not compatible with Apple Sillicon (at the time).

It says on their site that they are compatible with Intel and Sillicon from OS Mojave and onward.

I stopped using it personally.

I can tell you that it is a plug-in problem given the message:

"An Audio Unit plug-in reported a problem which might cause the system to become unstable. Please quit and restart Logic Pro."

Have you tried these plug-ins on a brand new session? You should try downloading the latest versions of those plug-ins and maybe that helps?

so it is a plugin problem. What does that mean? There was not problems before. Both of those plugins worked just fine. Has updating Logic or OS made it a problem?

I have tried these plugins on a new session. Won't work on new or existing sessions in which they have worked just fine before. I have the latest versions of those plugins.

I would rather not stop using them since I've payed for the plugins and I think they're awesome.

Different plug-ins have different builds. In my limited knowledge, this plug-in is probably using some kind of superficial wrapper but is not fully compatible. I’ll let someone with a better grasp on the subject speak to it.
