Removing Mac mini M1 from account

I've followed the procedure to reset my Mac Mini before selling it.


When it restarts it says it says it's still linked to my account, but it doesn't accept the password.


Checking my account with my Air doesn't show it linked.


How can I finally disconnect it?

I got to a screen with Mac on the left and a menu on the right, I chose Reset from the list.


After restarting the Mini said it was still linked, but when I entered my email ID and password it said this was wrong.


Going over to my Air, it no longer shows the Mac linked to my ID.


Guess I will have to call, was hoping I had missed something obvious.

If you cannot sign in the follow the on-screen instructions for “forgot password “ even though you think you know it. Once you can successfully login to your AppleID account the read and execute the instructions I provided on what to do when you sell.


Again if you continue to have problem CALL AppleCare!
