Apple CarPlay not working on new 2025 Nissan Rogue

I have an iPhone XR and just got a new 2025 Nissan Rogue. I have a usb-c to lightning cord. I plug in to both the phone and the car but the CarPlay icon/screen does not appear. I’ve tried various combinations of plugging & unplugging but it just doesn’t show up. Desperately need to bring Google maps up on my vehicle’s screen.

Re: Apple CarPlay not working on new 2025 Nissan Rogue

You may want to check your iPhone's IOS version is up-to-date:

About iOS 18 Updates - Apple Support says iOS 18.3.2 is the latest:

and

"This update provides important bug fixes, security updates, and addresses an issue that may prevent playback of some streaming content."

Note: Please remember to back-up your iPhone if you intend to update : Settings > General > Software updates

You may want to try another cable, as all cables are not the same.

Else: If you haven't seen them already:

Wondering if Apple Support's online articles (links below )can help:

Eg: Check the set-up info: to Use CarPlay with your iPhone - Apple Support

and

What to do: If you need help with CarPlay - Apple Support

Also: You may want to check with Nissan (and / or their car-manual) for their latest tips:

Thank you for the input. I did make sure my phone was updated & also the software in the car. I also bought a new cord. Neither of those worked.

I'm going to try the links that you sent also.

if none of that works, I’ll head back to the dealership to see if they can help.
