Can iMessage resend a blocked message through another number or email?

I was blocked by a person on iMessage a while ago. I tried reaching them through iMessage again yesterday. The message didn’t say ‘delivered’ so I figured I was still blocked. But today I checked and iMessage sent the same text again 5 minutes after I sent it (without my knowledge), and that message now says ‘delivered’.

I don’t understand what to make of that. I read here and there that sometimes messages can still say ‘delivered’ while you are blocked. But this second message is confusing me.

I did set up a second phonenumber (e-sim) and my e-mail for sending and receiving iMessages not that long ago. But the number I used to iMessage this person with in the past ánd the number I have set up to start new conversations (I had deleted the old thread, so this text yesterday was technically a new conversation) are the same number. And that number is the one that is/was blocked by this person.

Could it be that iMessage sent the text again on it’s own using my other number or e-mail? Because the first iMessage didn’t get delivered? That other number and my e-mail are most likely not blocked by this person. And that is why it got the ‘delivered’ message?
