How to resolve 'Failed to extract AssetData' error when creating a macOS Sequoia USB boot drive?

I am trying to create a bootable MacOS Sequoia USB drive. I am using a 64GB PNY USB-C drive (actually tried two different ones). Formatted drive in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) Format, with GUID Partition Map. Downloaded MacOS Sequoia installer into Mac Applications Folder.

Have tried this around 10X, and always get same error message: "Failed to extract AssetData/boot/Firmware/Manifests/InstallerBoot/* from update bundle. The bless of the installer disk failed."

I have checked this problem online and have not found a solution that worked. Would appreciate any help.
