How can I recover lost files in the Numbers app on iPhone?

Yet another update of Numbers last night resulted in the loss of two of the 5 files from my phone. Has anyone else experienced this ? Is there a way of getting them back ? (I have no knowledge of any difference between the files that went and those that remain).

Try checking iCloud Drive > Numbers, and also look in Recently Deleted, as files can sometimes end up there after an update. I haven’t personally encountered this situation before, but if the files are still there, those would be the main places to check.

Thank you for that Olivia - however, the two missing files aren't in the Icloud storage (unlike other files which I opened both before them and since, in precisely the same manner), and neither do they feature in recently deleted files . . . . . . It's a mystery and a real nuisance, but hardly a devastating blow in life, being merely a record of our power usage day by day and my golf scores over the last two years . . . . (What it is to be an OAP - worth waiting for, I can tell you !).
