How do I disable automatic iPhone backups during sync in macOS Sequoia?

why everytime I want to sync my iPhone I have to go through the macOS pointless backup skip process?!

I manage the iPhone backup manually, as in Finder gives as a choice,

I don't want to backup everytime I sysnc the iPhone with my library!

Until Cateline it was possible to disable the automatic backup with the following command

defaults write com.apple.AMPDevicesAgentAutomaticDeviceBackupsDisabled -bool true

I jumped from Catalina to Sequoia and now this command is helpless and no solution to deactivate the automatic backups!

anyone found here a solution?

thanks

What are you syncing? Music, movies, TV Shows, audiobooks, photos or files?

When I sync audiobooks from my Mac to my iPhone when I click on Apply I click multiple times on Skip Backup until the syncing moves to Stage 4 and begins the syncing.

I do occasionally backup my iPhone to my Mac incase I have a crash, lose the iPhone or get a new one and want to transfer what I have on the current phone to the new phone.

Just some food for thought.

When synching are you backing up your most important data on the iPhone to iCloud, that backs up what has changed, which is what I do. I also encrypt. Those are settings under the General tab when you open the synch window. My iPhone memory is much less than yours, but if nothing changed, it should be relatively quick.

Hi Old Toad

I sync only music, about 700GB, because I use the ID3 Tags information for my database. additional have a small folder with photos also sync, with a couple (about 20) wallpapers for the iPhone, customize by me.

I do the same as you, click a couple of times on the skip button, but it is annoying.

also the backup i do on the computer, as you say, i do it sporadicly about 1x every 3 months or even longer, for the same reasons as you say.

In the past was possible to configure the skip, and disable it. it looks that now we have to continue clicking skip!
