Why are some recently purchased iTunes songs greyed out when transferring to an iPod?

I just purchased some songs from the iTunes Store from my iTunes account. I want to transfer them to an iPod. Some of them work, but some are greyed out. They were just purchased - why won't they work on my iPod?

Why can't I access songs that I have already purchased on iTunes? It shows that I "Purchased" it buy the song is "greyed" out. Why can't I access songs that I have already purchased on iTunes? It shows that I "Purchased", but it is "greyed" out. Only plays sample. I had these songs for a while.
