Why do both iPhones ring despite having different numbers?

We upgraded to 2 iPhone 15s with 2 separate numbers , when you call either number both phones ring. How do we stop this?

This is just a temporary solution. The path forward long term is to have two separate Apple Accounts and not share one account.

Please follow this path,

iPhone > Settings > Cellular > Calls on Other Devices > Off, if it is off, momentarily switch on and then turn back off.

You may want to also adjust FaceTime settings for numbers you can be reached at.
