AirPods Max usb c, do they let you use your mic when you are plugged in to mac

Hello, I was wondering if you are able to use the microphone built into the AirPods Max usb c edition while connected via cable to a Mac. I want to use them for streaming and my current headphones cannot do that ( they are Sony xm5 headphones )

I cannot use the Bluetooth to connect to my Mac because it will lag the audio too much

I want to use them with OBS software
