How do I fix a non-responsive keyboard and intermittent mouse on my iMac?

My Mac does not work at all.The key board doesn’t work and the mouse works sometimes.Any suggestions?

Have a look at > If you can't connect your Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, or Magic Trackpad to your Mac - Apple Support

FWIW you can use most any Generic or PC keyboard and mouse, to help troubleshoot and/or replace a failed Apple keyboard or mouse.
