Why is there a strange icon on my external monitor when connected to MacBook Pro?

I have my mac book pro connected on external LG monitor 32 inch, and my mac lid is closed while i am using it. I have strange icon siting on my screen that appears and stays there. I can't understand what cause this, but i can assume that it may be when i unlock the screen. the only way to remove is to fully restart the Mac. Can any body help me to solve this?
