WhatsApp Storage Issue After Moving from Android to iPhone – Old Media Not in Photos App

Hi everyone,

I moved from an Android phone to an iPhone and used the official transfer feature to bring over my chat history. This is an issue, that has been bothering me for a while now. Everything transferred fine, but I’m facing a few issues related to storage and media access:

  1. WhatsApp is currently taking up 16GB of storage on my iPhone, and I suspect a large part of it is from voice notes and old media (photos/videos) that were part of my Android backup.
  2. I can see all my old media inside WhatsApp chats, but these old photos/videos are not showing up in the iOS Photos app (even pictures that I thought I deleted on my android phone years ago). Only new media I received after switching to iPhone appears in my picture gallery.
  3. I want to:
    • Access those older photos/videos outside of WhatsApp (ideally in the Photos app or another location).
    • Delete unnecessary files, especially voice notes and old media, without manually going through each chat (because so many accumulated over the years).

Is there a way to extract or bulk-manage this old WhatsApp data on iOS? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
