Command + C not working on numbers app, works fine elsewhere

The menu item Copy is greyed out. That means that nothing is selected. Numbers does not know what to Copy.

It works like this:

Select (cell, or some other object) = "Hey you!"

Menu item or short cut = "Do this!"

Have you remapped it to something else?

Go to the Edit menu and look to the right of "Copy". What does it say the shortcut is?

Does it copy if you use "Copy" from the Edit menu instead of the Command C shortcut?

Given that Cut and Copy are gray while the two Paste commands are not, it appears nothing is selected to be copied but there is something on the clipboard that can be pasted.

⌘ is "command" or "cmd".

You mention command-c and then command-v. Which is the one not working?

Command-v won't have anything to paste if you have not first copied contents to the clipboard with command-c or Edit > Copy.
