How do I send my Apple Pay information to a merchant for payment?

I’ve got a merchant online who’s requesting Apple Pay but his phone number won’t accept it. He’s telling me to “Send your Apple Pay number so we can request payment”.

Are you referring to Apple Cash? If so, it’s against the terms and conditions of Apple Cash for person to person payments to be used for commercial purposes. In fact many of these so called merchants are actually scammers. Apple Cash does not offer fraud protection. I would choose another payment method.

You’re welcome. You can use Apple Cash at a merchant’s location using Apple Pay (Tap-To-Pay) or online by filling in or providing the Apple Cash virtual card number. Person-to-Person (P2P) is strictly prohibited and more than likely a scammer.

A run a small travel photography related business and accept Apple Pay, credit cards etc. through my merchant account. If someone insists on P2P payment I use my Venmo business account that does permit that method. A legitimate business would not be using Apple Cash or other P2P payment service that are a violation of banking regulations and various terms and conditions>

I hope you have a great day!
