Can I create a master table that is updated with incomplete tasks of a project in Numbers?

Hi All,

I work on about 8 different projects in construction so I compiled various sheets in numbers with tasks relating to each project. I want to create a master table that is updated with uncompleted tasks everytime a project table is updated. Is this at all possbile?

Attached is a screenshot of the project-specific task table. Thanks!

What you want may or may not be possible, but it's impossible to tell from what's presented.

How does the sheet you show relate to the other sheets? Is this one of the individual project sheets? or the master sheet you're trying to assemble?

What's the criteria for what data does/does not get rolled up to the master table?

Generally, combining multiple tables into one is tricky, especially if there isn't consistent data between them.

Ultimately, it sounds like what you're trying to do is manage projects via a spreadsheet - no something I'd usually recommend. Have you considered an actual project management application for this? They're designed to handle multi-faceted projects, resource leveling, prioritization, timelines, dependencies and more, without having to reinvent the wheel.

If your tracking needs are relatively simple then you could consider keeping all of your tasks in one table and add a column in that table for project. That way you can easily use a filters to view: 1) all uncompleted tasks, and 2) all tasks related to a project.

That can be done via the built-in filter interface in the app or using the new FILTER function.
