When a merchant issues a refund, the funds travel directly from the merchant’s bank account to your credit or debit card account. Apple and Apple Pay do not participate in the refund process.

Once the merchant releases the funds, it generally takes 3 to 5 business days for the transfer to complete and your bank to credit the funds to your payment method account. Have you examined your account using the bank’s mobile app or online account?

If the funds do not appear there, contact the merchant and request the Acquirer Reference Number. Every credit or debit card refund is assigned an ARN when the merchant accepts your refund request and issues your receipt.

Once you have the ARN give it to your bank and request they trace the refund. In my experience any delays in receiving the refund are on the part of the merchant and not your bank.
