Numbers hangs on startup on my MacBook Air running macOS Sequoia

M2 MacBook Air - Sequoia 15.5

Numbers app hangs on startup - have to force quit.

Attempts so far:

Disk utility to repair SSD

Tried Safe mode - still happens

Tried deleting numbers app then reinstalling - still happens

Tried letting Cocktail app repair things - still happens

Backup and clean reinstalled/updated OS - still happens

Any advice now?

Maybe it's trying to open one particular document that is problematic?

Have you tried restarting your Mac and then holding down the shift key when you launch Numbers?
