How do I recover lost playlists after turning on iCloud sync?

Turned on sync to download content that I had purchased but wasn't on system. Almost all of my playlist are gone. Not Apple music playlists, Stuff I made back with iTunes / Stuff that has kept me going for years. All from stuff that was purchased and downloaded files.

Feeling heartbroken and slightly betrayed right now. Is there a fix I'm not not seeing?

Original Title: ICLOUD Just wiped out more than two decades of playlists when I turned on Sync. Anybody got a way to get it back?
