Assistive touch screws up wallet

When I try ro pay with Apple Pay, I hold the iphone over the card reader. It shows the amount and asks me to double click. When I do, it says I have to turn on assistive touch. If I turn on assistive touch it wants password but doesn’t suay what password. Either way, I can’t use Apple Pay. Any fix for this?
