Unable to use Apple Pay on iPhone 13 after Apple Pay scam

I unfortunately got scammed via Apple Pay- contacting my bank, just been on the phone to them (2 weeks later) as could not add my new card to Apple wallet

they have now told me that I will not be able to use Apple Pay on my device (iPhone 13) anymore

it’s just something Apple Pay do?!!!

this is so inconvenient!!

the advisor suggested I download google pay??

is there no way I can get Apple Pay back?

many thanks

You can disprove that simply by adding a different card to your Wallet. When you find another card can be added and used with Apple Pay, then you need to decide if your bank is providing the level of service and honesty that is acceptable to you.

If you prefer to contact Apple directly, you can do that here, but they cannot force your bank to approve your card added to the Wallet.

The approval process is documented here and states it is not a decision made by Apple:

Apple does not approve or decline cards for use with Apple Pay. If your card was declined, contact your bank or card issuer.

It is your bank that approves your card when it is added to your Wallet, Apple does not do that. If your bank approves the card, then they will send your device a unique token that can be used for Apple Pay purchases, and your bank is not doing that. Apple has no interest in denying your card as you do not get a refund from Apple for fraudulent purchases, those come from your bank and they bear the risk of any purchases that you make with Apple Pay. It is their choice on whether they allow you to use Apple Pay with their card.

Your bank is not being up front with you on the reason why they are not approving your card and just blaming it on Apple so you continue to be their customer. Their suggestion for the Google Pay app is not even an option if you are in the US as Google has shuttered that app. Either they are clueless, or just trying to mislead you on the real reason why they have denied you.

Add a card from a different bank and you will realize it is not Apple that is preventing you from using Apple Pay.
