Unusual Apple Pay transaction and 24-hour processing delay

I just received the following text… Does Apple really stop transactions for 24 hrs and then process them? I’ve never heard of this from any bank before. They just decline the transaction and block the ALWAYS sending a new one.. even linking a website which I’m leery to click and open from the text

That's a fairly well known scam that's going around. Apple does not stop transactions nor does it send messages stating as much.

Do not call the number.

You can forward it to Apple at reportphishing@apple.com

Block the sender and delete it.
