Tingling / Static Feeling While Charging MacBook

Hi everyone,

Whenever I charge my MacBook M3, I feel a slight tingling or static touch on the aluminum body, almost like a small flow of static electricity. This has been happening since the beginning, right from when I bought it from the store.

Does this affect my MacBook’s performance, or is it only happening on my device?

Also, it has been 9 months since I bought it, and I already lost around 7% battery health — could this be related in any way?

If anyone else is facing the same issue, please let me know. Is this normal

The problem is the electrical outlet to which your Mac's power adapter is connected. The outlet is not properly grounded. The best solution is to have an electrician see to the wiring in your residence. A workaround is to use Apple's Power Adapter Extension Cable, which has a three-pronged plug that engages the grounding pin on the outlet.
