Apple Watch Series 10 not showing all activity rings after watchOS 26 update

I updated both my iPhone 16 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 10 today to OS 26.0, finished about four hours ago. Since yesterday, my standing hours, calories, and exercise minutes have shown as -- (before update) or 0 (after update). When I open the Fitness app on my iPhone, I can see by the per-hour graphs for each ring today that I should have had 7 hours standing, 4 minutes exercise, and more than 0 calories before the update. The numbers above the graphs in the fitness app still show as 0, and no data is available on my watch. The 0s have not moved since the update, and I have been puttering about the house and taking the stairs. After the software updates, here is what I tried to resolve the issue:

  1. Restarted my phone, then restarted my watch
  2. Changed watch face in case that's where the issue is (even though the 0s are in the Fitness app as well)
  3. Unpaired and re-paired
  4. I attempted to reset syncing in the Watch app on my phone, but that option is not responding when I tap it. I can tap any of the other options, but not that one.
  5. After the updates, I kept both devices on the charger until they returned to full power

I also received an email stating "find my" was disabled on my watch, which the email stated means anyone could erase its data. I checked on my watch, and the find feature has allowed me to find all my devices, but there is an option to permanently erase the data, and it would be very easy to tap accidentally. I assume that's what the email refers to, and that I should change something in settings, but I did not see an option to do so.

Can you please advise how to get my numbers back on my watch and what if anything to do about the "erase data" situation?

my wife and i are experiencing the same issue. when putting the watch on in the morning fully charged, the activity rings are unresponsive and do not show any data. we have done all the same steps as the original poster. the only work around we have found is to restart the watch 1-3 times and eventually it starts working.

we have also noticed that the heart rate app and the green lights on the back of the watch do not work either when the rings are unresponsive.

both watches have the latest watchOS 26.0.2 and have been reset and re-paired multiple times.
