How can I recover Calendar app data lost after iOS 26 update on iPhone 12?

A few days after I updated my iPhone12 to iOS26, my calendar 'events' & 'appoitments' disappeared, completely blank. I have checked the settings, toggled the settings on & off, synced iCloud, powered the phone down serveral times. Tried everything I could find online.

Has anyone else had this issue?
How can I recover this calendar? I have several important medical appointments that will be hard to track down.

Yes, same thing happened to me. Updated yesterday (01/10/2025) to iOS 26, and calendar now completely blank of data. I haven't tried recovering yet; I was hoping to get an answer here.

I backed up before the update, to my Mac Mini, but I don't know if I can just restore the Calendar or do I have to restore the whole phone then start again. I don't use iCloud to back up.
