Unable to download or update apps after canceling VPN subscription on iPhone

Hello! I accidentally signed up for a free trial of a VPN app and immediately canceled the subscription. But two weeks later, they're trying to charge me, and because of this, I can't download or update other apps. Please help. The app is listed as a "closed subscription" in my subscriptions.
