How can I fix "Wrong Password" on iPhone App Store?

I have both a MacBook pro and(M-1) and iPhone 15... with a strong password shared... but the App Store in my iPhone says "wrong password". ???? I didn't "forget password" as the only option seems to appear... I have tried to change my password but it led me to the web trying to change. Then I received a msg on the web saying I have a "stolen device protection" so I cannot change on the web. But then the directions telling me to go to my system settings in my Mac doesn't tell me exactly HOW to change my password! Also... somewhere else on the Apple website, it's telling me there's a difference between my "Apple Account" and my "Apple ID"... but I see in my passwords list, there's only one password for "Apple". (apple dot com). I am in a catch 22!!
