Did you already restart the iPhone?

Same problem for me… but also graphical elements have problem when I use WhatsApp. Like when I try to record a audio message and change orientation of the phone: several UI elements remains in wrong position and have swapped orientation with respect the phone orientation. Very annoying :(
Restarted WhatsApp, reinstalled too…
Still freezing when trying to use the icons in the application after the iOS 26 upgrade
Same issue. Restarted phone, deleted and reloaded app but same issue persists.
