Chrome won't quit and is frozen!

I have tried to quit, force quit in the terminal and can't get it to shut down. Do I need to preform a cleaning and if so can how? If not, what. I've only owned a Mac for about a year and don't know the equivalent to control, alt, delete in a PC.
