Unable to close in-game ads on my iPhone

I’ve literally searched everywhere on the internet. And no it is not an issue on the developers side. It through all of the games and apps that have ads. It could be a google advertising issue but I have no clue. I’ve tried everything, resetting my advertising identifier, restarting my phone, all of it. I’m on IOS 26 but this issue was still a problem on previous IOS versions as well for me.

Well that was quick… after reading op‘s logic and ignoring the rude and condescending comments by other members , I was able to identify the root cause: my vpn has a threat protection feature that blocked the ads reporting being done, which prevented them from being closed.

interesting that now until the bug is resolved , threat protection should be closed if you want to allow free apps to play ads…

I am having the same issue. We understand that free apps require ads, gladly! When I trigger an ad in a free app, the ad won’t go away after the reward has been granted. This started with me since iOS 26. not sure if it’s an iOS bug not allowing the app to get the cookie informing it that the ad has been watched or if it’s something else, but it definitely looks like an Apple issue since it’s affecting All the free apps since iOS 26.

If you want ad free games, then pay for the game, which will eliminate ads. When you play free games, you're going to get ads. This is the only way the app developers make money - either from you paying for an ad free experience or hoping some ad will catch your eye and you'll buy something. Or, don't play the game if the ads are too intrusive. This is not an Apple or iPhone issue at all, so we can't offer any assistance on this topic.

Are ANY of these apps, Apple Apps? I didn't think so. So why you think it's an Apple issue doesn't make any sense. I explained why 3rd party app developers run ads on their apps when a user chooses the free version. Believe what you want. But it's NOT an Apple issue and Apple has NO control over 3rd party apps. There's an old saying........."there's no such thing as a free lunch." Playing games or using apps you don't make any investment in will show you ads.

Reply: No

Reply: Because this issue persists through EVERY app I have ever installed that has ads.

I explained why 3rd party app developers run ads on their apps when a user chooses the free version.

Reply: I wasn’t asking why. I was asking for a solution to the ads not closing.

Believe what you want. But it's NOT an Apple issue and Apple has NO control over 3rd party apps.

Reply: Okay then elaborate to me why this is not an apple issue. I have some theories as to what could be the problem. But “just throw money at it, and not an apple issue don’t question it.” Is not a community help answer.

TL;DR: Reread my original post. Cheers! 🍻

Thank you for confirming NONE of the apps are Apple Apps, which means they are ALL 3rd party apps, none of which are owned by Apple and none of which Apple has any ability OR legal right to do anything with.

If you can't understand why 3rd party app developers choose to run ads on THEIR apps, if you don't want to pay for an ad free version is somethings you'll need to wrap your head around. And the solution is simple. Pay for an ad free version of whatever free app or game you're using or stop using the app or game. No one here can stop 3rd party app developers from trying to make a living. Apple can't stop them. Nor would Apple even try to stop them.

I read your original post several times. Your issue is with the 3rd party apps and has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with Apple.

And this will be my last reply to you. Feel free to write back, but it can't be explained any simpler than what you've been told.
