I've only owned my macbook for 3 weeks and I'm very careful with it. Just last week, I noticed this line that appears to be a scratch in the coating. Out of the box, it didn't have this. I'm curious, is this a normal occurrence and why did it happen? I already ordered a skin because it is just a cosmetic flaw.

It is impossible for us remote users to know how you scratched your computer? Yes it is normal for a scratch to appear if you or someone scratches the computer.
My advice, FWIW, is not to use a "skin". A skin may interfere with heat dissipation. If you do use a "skin" make sure you remove it prior to turning on the computer.

Again, I never left it unattended for someone to scratch it on purpose. I also did not purposely scratch it. Is it that easy to scratch or did the coating come off? Thanks for the logic, man. I know MacBooks can’t scratch themselves.
