MacBook Air USB ports too close for adapters

regarding MacBook ports, the USB ports are slightly too close together to accommodate adapters as shown in the photo

You could try replacing one or both of those adapters with an Apple – USB-C to USB Adapter . That one has a short cable between the USB-C plug and the USB-A socket. So it doesn't need as much space on either side of a USB-C port as the more "chunky" adapters in your photo.


Depending on the device that you are trying to connect, another possibility might be to get a cable that has USB-C, instead of USB-A, on the end. E.g., many portable USB hard drives have Micro USB 3.0 B sockets, and are bundled with Micro USB 3.0 B to USB-A cables. You can get Micro USB 3.0 B to USB-C cables.
