Photomator no filmstrip preview for Fuji HEIF images

I like Photomator so far but it seems to have some issues with the metadata that Fuji adds to its HEIF images. Previews in the film strip just don’t get displayed unless I convert the images first using Shortcuts. It’s important to uncheck “preserve metadata”, which indicates to me that really the metadata is causing the issues.

This seems to be a system-wide problem, as the files app also doesn’t show previews for most of my images. But at least a patch in Photomator would be very much appreciated, as a system-wide fix might take a while I guess.

It sounds minor but having to open every single photo, to find the right one, just isn’t fun at all while working with 100s of photos. Also the affected images load significantly slower, which makes it even more of a pain.
