Events shown side-by-side when happened not at the same time on macbook's calendar

The events are showing side-by-side format when they were not even happened intersecting each other, the events show perfectly find on iphone's calendar but not mac. Also I somehow remebered we were able to zoom in/out expand etc. on calendars but it doesn't work on macbook's calendar anymore?
