iOS 26 contact profile image zoomed out after cropping

In iOS 26

I cropped an image, zoomed in.

When activating the check mark ☑️ the contact profile image is zoomed out, to the original image.

Please share steps that I may activate to have a contact image remain in the zoomed in cropped desired display.
