Tab groups disappearing from iPhone after syncing iPad

I recently got a new iPad for school and I logged into the same iCloud account that I use on my iPhone. Maybe that was a mistake because when I opened safari, all of my tab groups were gone, but my open tabs were still there. I assumed that was just going to be the case on the iPad, but I then opened safari on my phone, and the tab groups had disappeared from there as well. Is there any way to recover them?
