Is Screen Protector for MacBook Air is necessary?

I am using a MacBook Air for the first time. I have come across several opinions online—some YouTube videos and forums suggest that using a screen protector is beneficial, while others advise against it. I am quite confused about this. Could you please provide some suggestions on whether I should use a screen protector or not?

+1 (Not needed / don’t do it)

Any MacBook’s usage — and exposure to potential screen wear / damage — is completely different from an iPhone/iPad.

Plus the screen -to- keyboard tolerances when closed are already VERY tight.

No you do not need a screen protector.

Using a screen protector may damage the screen.
