I cannot see/change my apple music profile

I set up my apple music account today and it seemed to be completely fine, but now whenever i press “set up profile” it says “profiles are off.

to set up a profile, you'll need to turn on music profiles under content restrictions.” so i go to settings, turn on allow changes to accounts, and go to the “music profiles” setting. “on” is greyed out. i’m not sure what other setting i need to do to let me turn it on.
