Stop ipad camera from going to previous photo when deleting

This is driving me nuts. I am taking hundreds of ebay photos. When I go to delete one, it then shows the previous photo instead of just going back to the camera. I have to arrow out each time to get back to the camera.

I did see something about this that said to turn off ipad sync, but I am using ipad sync. Is there another way around this annoying feature? Thank you. Ipad 9
