In Game Ad forcing open A Website Over and Over

While playing Scrabble Go, lately I’ve been getting an in game Ad that keeps forcing open a website that I cannot block. When the ad pops up in the game it immediately opens Safari and loads the website. I close the website only to have the ad force it open again and again as I am trying to close the ad. It’s for some site called Clubwptgold. I’ve blocked the website only to have it open with a different address. It is really aggressive and I don’t know what to do to stop this from happening. Any help would be appreciated!

It is the game that allow the ad to open Safari. It is possible the developer of Scrabble does not know that the Ad Network they are using is doing this sort of aggressive advertising. I would recommend to contact the Developer and express your displeasure, so they can follow up with the Ad Network they are using. Many games use the same Ad Network, so you may see the same thing happen when playing other games and see the same reports from others.

This is not new and does happen from time to time. Eventually the user wins by pushing back and not accepting this form of advertisement.

If you look at comments in the App Store, you will see many similar complaints about other apps as well. Is one game worth the aggravation? Just delete it and move on.

Based on the current trends in online games and streaming video services, we soon see all adverts and no content.
