iPad Pro incorrectly displays year in Date of Birth field

i am using an iPad Pro and when I checked my birthday ( 01/01/1961) it will not display the year corrctly, I can be 02/01/1961 or 01/01/1960 or even 01/01/1962 but when I try and set my DoB for the correct year the iPad will only display 01/01/1960 .
