iPad displays "printer not selected" after update

After updating iPad (from 17 to 18 ) I consistently get printer not selected message when trying to print. It is the same wifi network, turned on and off router, printer, iPad in order suggested. Same problem. Before the update I was able to print. Printer is one year old.
