Thanks for your answers.

After a day of searching, I finally succeeded. I had disabled "Find My" on my MacBook, but it was still enabled on iCloud. I thought it would sync.

I find Apple's online information very poor because it's not mentioned as an option. It sounds so easy to just wipe your MacBook to trade it in. But it always takes much more time than you think.
